One of the big ideas in the story A Slander by Anton Chekhov has to do with gossip. Gossip is something that most of us deal with in our lives all the time, but we often fail to think about its impact on the people around us or why we partake in it.
For this blog entry, consider the following questions:
- Why do you think the wedding guests do not believe Ahinyenev’s story about the kiss?
- Do you think they prefer scandal?
- Do you think this quickness to gossip is a common human trait? Why or why not?

Well Ahineyer spreaded the gossip about himslef by being stupid.Anyway gossip is so party of scoeity because no one can ever shut their mouths and it spreads, but you have them people who like to instegate and stuff which make it worse. Anway its something that always happens.
the reason why i think the wedding guests didnt believe achieyev is because that they had no idea what he was talkin about. and yes people love to hear gossip even though half the time its not true. and quickness is common in human nature because it happens everywhere. even when your are a child you may already start to gossip
I think the wedding guest do not believe Ahinyenev's story because he keeps running around tell his story to everyone. He keeps trying to get everyone to believe his side of the story an it is making im look guilty.
I kinda do think people enjoy scandel, because everyone likes to hear a juicy stoy thats fun to talk about. And also because no one likes to feel like they are being left out.
I think it is a common human trait because once you tell someone something they have to tell someone else and then that person wants to tell their friend an before you know it everyone knows a secret about you. Not only do they know... but they mix the story all up and now something that has nothing to do with you, becomes about you.
The guests do not believe Ahinyenev’s because he is the one spreading the rumor was him and not anyone else and he is making it big deal. I don’t think they prefer scandal because they really don’t care and they don’t have time for drama. The quickness to gossip is common in human trait because it’s all over the world and no one can’t stop it. Gossip it’s all over the world no matter what.
because he bein was acting stupid , he thought people other wise about the kiss.
Yes alot of people like to gossip,in life people will always gossip about you or someone else because they just dont like you or just hate you alot.
