identifying context clues is very important, your the type of person to know what word means what so you get a better understanding on whats happining with what your reading. if you dont identify words that you dont understand then youll be confused and not know what the the sentence or even the paragraph means... it can really throw you off..
boosting your vocab is a good skill in life. to know other words and that way you ewont have to explain something you can just use a word to expalin whatever your talking bout. besides it makes you sound more professional and safisticated, to have a expanded vocab. like some words like these shadowing, trembling, and exotic, these words i didnt kno but because i used context clues i got a better idea of ewhat they ment and what the author was trying to say in the story..i think that quote means until you fully undersyand what a word means you wont be able to use it you wont beable to own it.
1.)It is important to identify and understand words you didn’t know because you have to know so yu understand the text.
2.)Increasing your vocabulary help your understanding of the world around you so that when you are reading you understand what you are reading.
3.) weariness, scowled, and jotted. They held me understand the story more because i get to use context clues.
4.) I think it means that you can never use a new word until you fully understand it.
It's important to understandn and indentify words that i didnt knew before because you will learn new things and maybe you can realte to them. Knowing words is good because it well help you understand and not get you confuused. Increasing vocavulary words can help you understanf new things and more words around you because some words mean almost the smae thing and it can help you know other words. Three words from my pcr books are (carnergie) meaning like a tall building and alots of rooms in it. (Astanished) meaning like i think is like a bad thing or something bad. (Restless) meaning you are tired and sleepy. i think the quote means that when you kbnow a new word and yoyu know what it means you well be able to own it and used when ever you want.
Well this week we have ;earned about alot of context clus! You have antonims..cinimims? I forget the ot to find out what the word is! her one but e use them alot to determine what a word means because you need to read in between the lines
For example I hadd to do work and a page for english where you had to guess what the word ment by sjst readinbg what was said around the word. whats wround the word will help you along way about what the word means you really got to read in between the line. There was this word its lkr I knew what it ment but I forgot it the word was praise and I knew it I just didnt remember what it ment and then when I looked around the owrd I found out what it was by jus looking around the ord and it helping me because the context clues help you alot.
You have to use your knowledge to find out what the word means by just readibg the other words around it. It makes it easier for you to undstand the words that are bekng used!
it is very important to to find that you dont know because if you dont know it you have something else to learn. Plus it may help you understand something so much easier.
another thing is that it helps you understand the world around you. like if you know people that talk with a very high vocabulary, and your sitting there having a good conversation and all of a sudden they tell a joke that has a word you never learn/heared before and you dont know what it means. Then your left out of the joke.
the reason why i think we need to learn the meanings of words we dont know is because it helps us understand things better and extend our vocabulary. learning the meanings help you understand the world better because you can learn more on politics and the problems we have as americans, it also helps people extend their knowledge.
humping- hicking or hauling things such as a rutsack,i understood what they were doing in the book.quarreled- complained it helped me understand how the sargent felt that his men complained all the time
it is important to understand words you dont know because it helps you understand what you are reading so much better. if you skip words in a story that you dont know, you might not understand the story at all or you might miss something important that you need to know. increasing your vocab will help you understand the world around you because at one point or another in your life you will come across words that you need to know to help you pass a test or get a job or anything like that. and one day when or if you have kids you will want to teach them big words or help them with words that they dont understand.
in my P.C.R book {Cruise Control} i do not have a lot of hard words that sophmores dont know so instead i tryed to pick out some words that i thought a 3rd or 4th grader might not know. i thought Phoniness {Fake, Not Real} was a hard word for someone there age. Moronic which means stupid, dumb, not smart. and finally concentrated, focous, keeping your mind on one thing at a time.
i think the quote means that you can never use a word unless you know what it means and you know how to use it.
Its important to identify and understand words you dont know because the sentence helps you undersatnd the word much better. Increasing your vocabulary helps you in everyday life because different people use different vocabulary, when you go to different country they many use different vocabulary also. I think you cant never use a new word unless you know it because that would make no sence and you would sound dumb if you used it in the wrong way..
I think having a better vocab, is important in life. Like when you govto a job interview you can seem smarter then you are. And when your at school, you can use "Big" words that your friends don't know. Just having a better vobcab' can help with many different things... And you'll know why more then other people (Like, more words )Ect... Also, improving your vocab' helps you understand more of whats out i the world. Help you get itno certain places. (National Treasure 2)
I am reading "The Vampire Diaries" I came across the word solitude. And I'am not really sure to what it is. But I think its like being alone. Another word is betrothed. And I think it means someone your married too Maybe?. And also bridle. I think it means train. Like to train some an horse ect. . (Yup' thats what I'am thinking !
I think its important because you Have to at least try your best because sometimes i forget the meaning of some words i know so its really important for me to do that.
I think because the more words you know helps you know words you dont know or maybe forgot about some words and increasing the vocabs helps because showing us words we dont know makes us learn it faster thats what i think for my point of view.
I dont know any words that helped me right about now because i cant find any right now i really understand the book because i dont think its really hard to me.
I think the quote means that dont try to learn a new word if your trying to figure a hard one because its going to be hard to really understand the next word you dont know .
Its important to understand and identify words you dont know because education is the key in life. Increasing your vocabulary helps you to understand the world more better because understanding is a key part of life. How can you pursue your life if you dont understand the words thats in it. When people increase their vocabulary it seem as though they become more educated and wiser.
Its good to know words you dont know because it will expand you vocabulary and also say sometime whenever your reading something and a word comes up you'll already know the meaning of it because you took the time to actually learn its definition.
Increasing my vocabulary will help the world around me because when having convesations I can use big words and actually know what they mean instead of just saying them to look smart.
3 words from my book was psychidelic, compatible, and bounded. These words really didnt help me understand the book though.
The quote you can never use a new word til you own means to me that you cant use a new word unles you know its meaning.
