So far in our readings of Hamlet, it is evident that young Hamlet seems to be going mad. We have discussed the issue of madness quite a bit, and we have all agreed that different elements of a person’s life can cause him or her to go “mad.” However, we have not talked about how this specific instance of madness has influenced our Modern Entertainment......
YOUR TASK:
You are to think about a variety of films, TV shows, novels, songs, poems, or even commercials that in some way deal with madness and analyze how Shakespeare’s “Hamlet” may have influenced that specific piece.

A.The title of the show is The Tudors. I believe it is a connection to hamlet because the renansaince look and the style they choose which is hamlet setting.
B.It falls into the mode because the constant drama that lays within the setting and the language. Everything is shakespearan and it is modern english at the same time. It is easy to understand what they are talking about. There is a king and a queen. Who face troubles and many want the king dead for purposes and want to ruin his life amongst the whole kindom.
C.The influence is exactly like the mode. The setting , the language, and how characters aka the people are played out as a kingdom which is under stress.like in hamlet he has family problems and troubles of holding his own men as "trust worthy" people. Like the king in the tudors he struggles by his queen being a traitor in some way.
D.Now if hamlet wasn't the case or the influencial standing that the show takes. The show would be week in the setting because setting is your key emotions on how you react towards people. Thats like me being in my home with company , I must have manners. Like Hamlet and the Tudors king their life style is respect and honor to your superiors. No respect, exspect to be thrown out of the life of a king or superior. The language tells all how they lived in the times they lived. With no clarity on what they do in their own lifes. There is no shows or movies to put out for recognition on true meaning of hamlet.

in the movie the government wants to wipe out a civilization but drops a poison on the wrong civilization. everyone who drinks the water gets sick and goes crazy. the crazy people start killing the people who arent sick yet.
shakespeare started the trend of tragedy so i guess i believe he did drive us mad. i know he drives me mad because i have to learn about him.
this tv show Sons of Anarchy were the gang goes after one of there own members but kills his wife instead. So they tell the dude someone else killed her. So he went after thm. But the gang said they had nuthing to do with it. It like Hamlet because Hamlets mother and Uncle killed his father and didnt tell Hamlet they had it planed out.

The mood changes throughout the whole book. Towards the end there is a lot of depression.
I see a similiarity in the way Alice is pondering if she wants to live or die. She is deep into drugs and thinks when she is sober she is going crazy. She wonders if she should just kill herself. That is awefully similar to hamlet. This Seems like Shakespear has influenced the novel a little. The story is in diary format. She has a self assement about whether she wants to life or not. This has a direct connection to Shakespear.

It was a win win sitaution for all the people in the mob that was a part of the group who sells it. To not sell the coke they wouldn't have as much money but they wouldn't have to worry about cops trying to bust them. They would live more freely then they would think. Since they been in the game for so long they don't know how it is to live with out it.
D It let them have a choice to get into the game and have the risk of getting into trouble with the cops. The wrong pick would ruin their lives and everyone around it that is apart of it. If you think about it make the right choice so you turn out better in life.
